Terminology

A short description of the most used terminology which you most likely will come across.

Corporation group

Corporation group in ITX is a collection of corporations. This can be compared with Tenant in Microsoft terminology. This field can usually be ignored. Missing values will be automatically set in the REST API.

Corporation

Corporation is usually a one to one representation of an organization. An user in ITX can have access to multiple corporations by access groups.

User

User refers to an individual or entity granted access to utilize the platform's services or software.

Team

A collection of users. A user can be eighter a member or a leader for a specific team. Leader role often defines which other users you have access to in the context of reports and other functionality.

Entity

An entity represents a clearly distinguishable and identifiable entity, encompassing both corporate and private entities. Each entity is uniquely identified by an entity ID, typically an organization number for corporate entities or a Social Security Number (SSN) for private individuals. The entity contains information such as contact information, adresses, name and key-value pair properties.

Entity extension

An entity extension provides context to your company's relationship with a given entity. A given entity might in some cases have different kinds of relationships with your company, and thus may have multiple extensions.  Activities belong to the entity extension, not the entity.

Entity extension links is a link from one entity extension to another. Contact person extensions (type 40) can be linked to an entity by using an entity extension link.
